He angitūtanga: The opportunity
This role underpins effective decision-making for Auckland Council’s hearing processes. You'll become a specialist in hearings processes held under the Resource Management Act, the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act and other acts. You will manage and coordinate hearings to provide a superior service to all stakeholders – whether they’re a King’s Counsel, a property developer or a lay person looking out for their community.

You will be the face of Auckland Council at the hearing. You will manage and attend the hearing and make sure the process runs efficiently, the technology requirements are met and take minutes as well as providing professional and relevant advice to all stakeholders. As a Hearings Advisor, you will provide strong administration support ensuring statutory timeframes are met and all documentation is received, processed and disseminated.

This role is based in the CBD with hearings held across the region, so some travel is required. For a copy of the position description please click here.

You will be a self-managing team player with a high degree of initiative and the ability to balance competing demands. A level-headed professional who can think on their feet while dealing with complex and sometimes controversial hearings. A customer service superstar that can problem solve, provide outstanding administrative support and have excellent computer skills. Along with these skills you are confident when it comes to communicating and collaborating with a wide range of people.
