We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven track record in the successful execution of large-scale construction projects. This pivotal role, based in Dunedin, offers an exceptional opportunity to lead a high-performing projects team, oversee the flawless delivery of projects, and drive a culture of operational excellence. As a Senior Project Manager, you will partner with our Construction Manager to ensure project success, including timely delivery, adherence to budget, and unwavering commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of complex construction projects, from tender through to completion. Collaborate with internal teams to develop robust project methodologies, comprehensive budgets, and detailed schedules
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the project team, promoting a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential issues, ensuring that project budgets, schedules, and resources are carefully monitored and controlled
  • Drive accountability across the project team, ensuring all contractual claims and variations are managed efficiently
  • Drive Zero Harm culture across all facets of the project, ensuring a high focus on health, safety, environmental sustainability, and quality assurance

The ideal candidate for this position will hold a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic vision. You’ll also have:

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Extensive and proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects within a contracting environment, with demonstrated ability to manage complex logistics, subcontractors, and resources
  • Strong leadership skills, with a track record of developing and motivating high performing teams, while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, contractual frameworks, and risk management principles
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to plan and execute long-term goals while addressing immediate operational needs
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards, with a commitment to Zero Harm practices
