About the opportunity
We’re looking for a Marketing Communications Lead who can take complex ideas; waste, resource recovery, circular economy, sustainability, and turn them into narratives that inspire action.

This isn’t just about marketing. It’s about thought leadership. It’s about helping communities, businesses, and decision-makers understand why what we do matters. It’s about ensuring our partners, funders, and stakeholders don’t just see our work but feel connected to our mission.

This is a permanent part time role with hours between 24-32 per week that can be worked flexibly with a mixture of at our main centre and remotely.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead our internal and external communications strategy
  • Tell our story – through presentations, social media, tenders, reports, and more.
  • Support our teams – helping them understand their role in the bigger picture.
  • Ensure Localised is recognised – in the zero waste and resource recovery sector.


Who you are

  • A strategic communicator who can craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
  • Someone who gets the balance—keeping things clear without oversimplifying.
  • A storyteller who can translate impact into engaging content across digital, print, and in-person channels.
  • A leader who can guide our marketing coordinator, work with contractors, and shape the voice of Localised and our other subsidiary brands


What you bring

  • Experience in communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience developing a communications strategy and plan for an organisation.
  • The ability to turn complex information into clear, compelling narratives.
  • A passion for and experience in sustainability and community-driven impact.
  • Strong leadership and relationship management skills.
