About the role
Sanford Bioactives, our marine extracts centre, produces high-value nutraceutical, cosmeceutical, and ingredient products. Opened in late 2022, it uses advanced technology and research to drive a more diversified and sustainable future for our Greenshell Mussels. The centre features cutting-edge equipment, and a team dedicated to developing next-generation marine extracts.
This role is located at Bioactives in Blenheim. Reporting into the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Control Technician, will assist in the maintenance, development and monitoring of Sanford Limited - Bioactives Quality management Systems. Ensuring all factory, regulatory, compliance and customer requirements are met.
Quality Control Technician responsibilities:
Your day to day will vary, as we are a busy and complex environment. As a Quality Control Technician, your main responsibilities will be
Quality control: complete testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality is maintained, to implement and make sure food safety & quality control/assurance standards and procedures are followed.
Quality assurance: complete in-line testing of product and equipment for food safety, hygiene and quality.
Administration & reporting: manage and maintain reporting on all quality checks, assist and support with developing STSs, keeping accurate and up to date data entry records.
About you: You'll possess strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and have a solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
What we're looking for:
- 1+ years experience in a similar role
- Ability to work effectively in a team Strong time management skills Strong attention to detail positive can-do attitude and willingness to undertake new tasks as required by supervisor or manager
- Proven experience in reporting and data entry
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure
