Have you worked in early childhood education but aren’t looking for a full-time, permanent role? — if you’ve got experience with tamariki, we’d love to have you on our team.

BestStart Ōmokoroa is looking for ECE caregivers to join our casual reliever pool. This is your chance to step back into the classroom in a way that suits your lifestyle — flexible, rewarding, and right here in our beautiful coastal community.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting kaiako and tamariki through routines, play, and learning
  • Helping create a safe, calm, and fun environment where children thrive
  • Using your ECE experience to step in confidently and make an immediate impact
  • Being a familiar, trusted presence across our centre when we need help


What We’re Looking For:

  • A love for children and a calm, caring approach to their learning and development
  • Availability for casual, on-call work
  • Two workplace references (from previous Managers)
  • Valid ID and ability to pass a Police Vetting check
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand
