Job Description

We are working with our client who is looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Employment Solicitor for their in-house team. This role offers a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute to a strong legal team and engage with a variety of stakeholders in the employment law sector. The candidate will have the chance to work on diverse legal matters, providing expert advice, represent clients and undertake mentorship and training of team members. They will be empowered to develop internal relationships in the wider organisation, engage in initiatives to promote the organisation!

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this position brings a wealth of experience in practicing employment law at a senior level across either private practice or an inhouse environment. You have represented clients in the ERA or Employment Court, potentially including high-profile or groundbreaking cases. Your strong interpersonal skills enable you to develop successful relationships both within the organisation and externally. You have proven mentoring and technical leadership skills, with the ability to develop staff to perform at a high level.

  • Tertiary qualification in law and a current practicing certificate
  • Substantial experience practicing employment law at a senior level in New Zealand across various industries and organisations
  • Experience representing clients in the ERA or Employment Court
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop successful relationships both internally and externally
  • Proven mentoring and technical leadership skills
  • Experience working in a chargeable/billing environment
