The Product Governance and Assurance team provides assurance over the controls that address the CP&S risk and compliance environment, including GRACE objects, processes and policies owned by EGM, CP&S.This is a chance to join the team as a Senior Manager – Assurance, Information & Comms.

We spoke with the Head of Product Governance & Assurance (who you'd report to), and he gave us some great insight on what to expect with this tūranga (role):
What are the main day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
This role works closely with the Head of Product Governance & Assurance to:
Work with big data to interpret and draw insights that drive organisational wide strategic and tactical decisions
Report writing for committees and the Board
Provide oversight, review and challenge of product governance activities;
Monitor the risk of customer detriment associated with products;
Help support BNZ meet its product governance responsibilities (including the fair design of, and change to, products);
Support strategic programmes of work to represent product governance and good kiritaki (customer) outcomes; and
Maintain a robust framework of controls and testing around Product Governance.

What will success look like for the candidate in this role?

The purpose of this role is to support CP&S to ensure products are fit for purpose for customers through strong and effective product governance. Success will be shown through the;

Production of credible insightful analysis and recommendations to address thematic weakness or opportunities
100% ownership of a key governance programme
Smooth and optimised operationalisation of the governance programme.
Leadership of team that specialises in data, workflows and governance

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?

We are looking for someone with exposure to risk and compliance (5 years or more), who understand the business of banking, is a solid report writer with previous experience with engagement of senior stakeholders. You will also be able to own the end-to-end governance programme framework, be confident to challenge as well as being a collaborative, organised individual.
