Employs around 40 staff in their Auckland office with 20% being Chartered Professional Engineers.

Their staff are specialists across structural, civil and environmental engineering design. This has been illustrated across numerous projects in numerous fields including, retirement home developments, schools, apartment and retail buildings, residential subdivision, water pump stations, bridges, temporary works design, insurance and seismic assessments and many, many more.

The Role
They are seeking a qualified civil engineer who is passionate about three waters design, confident in client facing roles and a motivated problem solver.

Majority of work is for Watercare/Council with a small amount of private sector projects (lots of variety).

Whether you're a few years out of university and keen to learn, or a seasoned professional looking for the next step up in your career, they would love to hear from you.

The role available is intended to support their excellent service to the public three waters network. It will involve hands on design, site presence, problem solving and thinking on your feet. Taking a project ownership role, you will take charge of your own projects and manage them from concept to completion, fully supported by their existing team, your mentors and in-house resources.

About You

• They are looking for civil/3 waters design engineers, ideally experienced in public infrastructure.
• Ability to apply knowledge to problem solve is essential as no two projects are the same.
• Excellent communication required as all engineers are client facing.
• Happy to train on the technical side for engineers who have 3 waters experience on private developments and wish to shift to public, but only where they show significant promise with communication skill, intelligence and attitude/cultural fit.
• Do not have capacity currently to take on any who are not independently driven or need help with communication/comprehension.
• A BE, NZCE or BEngTech qualification (or equivalent)
• 2+ years of high quality engineering design experience
• Experience with site presence and client/contractor engagement
• Strong communication skills to support our client relationships
