Ko tō tūranga – your role
As our Commercial Manager – Infrastructure & Property you will play a key role in managing ~$100m cost to OneNZ invested in passive asset leases along with managing the leased network property and colocation agreements for Technology, ensuring that all legal and commercial requirements are met.
The successful candidate for this role will be detail & process oriented, performance focused, have good organisational skills and strong relational skills, along with contract interpretation skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity between contractual & operational outcomes.
You will manage and optimise spend within their portfolio, leveraging vendor service agreements and integrating into Infrastructure operational teams (functional business owners) to ensure quality compliance, performance (e.g. coverage targets) are enabled. This role will also work with Finance & Commercial, Procurement, Legal and the external Vendor or Supplier to drive and measure vendor performance.
Please Note this is a 10 month Fixed Term position.
Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do
- Build strong working relationships with key vendors (FortySouth & Bayleys).
- Managing existing supplier contracts, establishing appropriate governance forums to manage risks, contract compliance & process enablement.
- Manage lease renewals, relocates, assignments & terminations in partnership with Business Owners & vendors through appropriate governance forums.
- For the specified Infra vendor relationships ensure that spend, invoicing and goods receipting is valid, timely and there is a recorded track of site-specific charges.
- Support business to design frameworks that enable New Build, Upgrade and Operational delivery. Support best practices, KPI’s and SLAs once implemented.
- Drive continuous cost optimisation and process improvements through vendor relationships and performance management. Optimised co-location strategy & revenue in partnership with business owners.
- Deliver insightful reporting on spend categories managed on a monthly basis.
- Supporting procurement as part of the Vendor Management process, including sourcing, renewal and exit processes as required.

- Proven experience in a similar role ideally within an Infrastructure environment working across vendor management, procurement or legal.
- Must be analytical with strong commercial acumen
- Ability to work with high performing team, make decisions under pressure and communicate effectively.
- Proven ability to work in ambiguity and create clarity and purpose.
- Strong communications skills with ability to influence and persuade others up to C-suite of partners.
- Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders – customers, vendors, partners and other internal teams.
- Proven ability to manage and extract value from supply contracts.
- Proven ability to implement governance and process in a collaborative manner.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, leadership style of continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and build trust with suppliers.
