As a member of ASB's Financial Crime Operations leadership team you will act as a key strategic decision maker and lead the way in the way how we protect ASB and its customers from the impact of Financial Crime. You will meaningfully contribute to the protection of Aotearoa New Zealand from organised crime, modern slavery, fraud & scams, and other activity which places New Zealand at risk.

We are now looking for a Head of Financial Crime Technology (Platform Lead) to lead our Financial Crime Technology team. The role is a fixed-term opportunity for a period of 12-months based in Albany (Corinthian Drive) and North Wharf.

Mo te tūranga | About the Role:

In this role, you will be the accountable Platform Owner for the Financial Crime Platform, which is a key management role in the Financial Crime Operations leadership team working in close connection with the bank's technology leadership team. This work will involve the development and execution of a multi-year vision and roadmap for financial crime systems, maintenance and support for active technology solutions and leading squads to deliver end-to-end technology capabilities. You will manage a range of key business and technology stakeholders and be accountable for the leadership of the Financial Crime Platform risk management.

The outcomes you will be responsible are:

  • Development and execution of a multi-year vision and roadmap for financial crime systems to ensure the organization is able to stay ahead of emerging threats
  • Maintenance of a robust, efficient and effective technology platform
  • Successful delivery of strategic implementation and enhancements across financial crime systems
  • Efficient management of third-party vendors ensuring alignment with organizational goals and standards
  • Fostering a continuous learning and innovation team culture

Mōu | About you:

Working as the Head of Financial Crime Technology, you will need to have strong technology, data, risk management, reporting and delivery implementation skills. You'll need to set targets, respond to external & internal technology impacts and leverage relationships throughout the bank to safely maintain and deliver technology change. Along with this, we are ideally looking for someone with the following skills or credentials:

  • Strong credentials running a technology team in a large organization
  • Track record of technology innovation, including design and implementation of enterprise wide systems
  • Broad technical delivery and leadership experience including business efficiency, agile transformation, governance, engineering, architecture and user experience
  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years' leadership experience with medium-large entities
  • Ability to lead large portfolios of people, resources and budgets
