He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga | About the role 

• This pivotal Operational Leadership position is designed to support the Regional Manager to provide effective business management and contribute to optimal service delivery across the region through application of operationally sound processes and procedures.
• The position is expected to operate in a manner that ensures that Access Community Health can, in an effective and sustainable manner, assist and support clients to live as safely and independently as possible in their homes and communities.
• You will be responsible for support workers and to develop the work programme of the Support Worker Team leaders, Trainers and Advanced Work programme.
• With the Regional Manager you will determine areas where immediate operation improvements are required and deliver a prioritised work plan.
• Develop and execute the operational changes required to deliver against the work plan, consistent with the collective agreement and the oversight of the Regional Manager.
• Ensure implementation of best practice HR, Guaranteed Hours, recruitment, and payroll functions.
• Remain cognisant of the industrial relations environment we work within, and to assist with managing the union relationships as related to support workers.

• Demonstrated operational thinker and relationship builder
• Experienced in leading regional complex functions, including in HR and Operations
• Ability to plan and organise work to achieve outcomes by self and by teams
• Proficiency in managing people to achieve results, through strong influencing skills, leadership and the use of effective judgement in the timing and targeting of new initiatives
• Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly in relation to understanding peoples' behaviours and aspirations, especially in relation to changing expectations
• Sensitivity to equity issues, people with disabilities, and cultural and social needs
• Strong information technology literacy, including the Microsoft package, spread sheets, databases and internet research ability.
• Demonstrated positive attitude and energetic approach
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong, responsive customer focus, with the ability to establish effective internal and external relationships built on trust
