About Us
For over 60 years, New Zealand Couriers has proudly delivered outstanding service across the country. As the flagship brand of the Freightways Group, we are New Zealand’s leading courier company, with over 1,100 employees and 550 independent contractors operating in 25 locations nationwide. Our success is built on our commitment to people — our customers, our team, and our communities.
The Opportunity
Due to an internal promotion, we’re looking for an energetic and detail-focused People and Culture Coordinator to join our team at our Penrose Head Office. Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity to build a strong foundation in Human Resources within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
You’ll be part of a small, high-performing team supporting 1,100 employees, with responsibilities that span the full HR lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to data integrity and employee support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide coaching and support to managers on recruitment and onboarding using our HRIS (SAP SuccessFactors)
- Draft employment agreements, variation letters, and other HR documentation
- Respond to HR-related queries and provide accurate, timely information to employees
- Maintain and update employee data in our HRIS
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance
- Support the People & Culture Manager with wider HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects
About You
You’re an experienced Administrator or Coordinator with a passion for HR and a knack for systems. You’re highly organised, solutions-focused, and thrive on helping others. With excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional manner, you’re confident coaching managers and building trust across all levels of the business.
You’ll bring:
- Previous experience with an HRIS and/or ATS (SuccessFactors experience a bonus)
- A working knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related field
- A high level of attention to detail and data accuracy
- The ability to work proactively, show initiative, and contribute ideas
- Resilience and adaptability to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
What’s in it for you?
- Be part of a tight-knit and collaborative team
- Exposure to a wide range of People & Culture initiatives
- Ongoing development and learning opportunities
- On-site parking
- Work within the Freightways Group — a NZX top 50 company
