Job Description

The Company

My client is a leading global innovator in sustainable animal breeding practises. Headquartered in Europe, they have recently acquired NZ operations in both the North and South Island. They are at the forefront of their industry with their innovative and sustainable practises. After recently acquiring the NZ-operations, they are seeking a well-rounded and dynamic individual who can lead the local finance function reporting to their parent based in the Netherlands.

The Role

This is a truly dynamic role where no two days will be the same. The company operates a very flat and non-hierarchical structure. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the NZ-finance function. You will be required to take full responsibility for the financial operations and have full control of the P&L. You will also be responsible for executing budgeting and forecasting at a local level. Given the investment the parent is making in the local business, you will play a pivotal role in establishment of local best practises and internal controls. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to reporting within global guidelines. You will be responsible for driving successful business outcomes and be relied upon for your financial stewardship and recommendations. Given the nature of the business and the growth plans, you will also be involved in various ad hoc projects and business case work as well.

Your profile:

To be considered for this role, I am looking for a well-rounded and proactive finance leader. You will likely have owned a finance function in the past and have demonstrable ability to drive a business forward. Your communication style will be open and collaborative. Given the requirement to liaise with a global parent, you will need to be flexible in your approach to work. Any previous experience in a multi-national structure, will be viewed favourably. To be successful in the role, you will need a balance of technical nous and commercial acumen. You will be genuinely committed to the success of this business. Due to the need to establish internal controls and processes, an audit background would also be viewed favourably. It is highly likely that you have 5+ years of accounting experience and are fully qualified (CA/CPA).
