About Us
Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) has been at the heart of early childhood education in New Zealand since 1908. With 107 kindergartens, four KiNZ centres, and a strong support network, we are committed to nurturing tamariki in safe, enriching, and play-based learning environments.
Now, we are thrilled to announce that Glenavon Kindergarten, which opened in January 2025, is growing rapidly! Due to overwhelming community support and increasing enrolments, we are excited to expand our teaching team and welcome a fifth Kaiako to join us in shaping this incredible new learning environment.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a part-time (31.25) ECE Kaiako to join our amazing new team at Glenavon Kindergarten! If you are a registered and certificated ECE Kaiako with a current first aid certificate, this is your chance to play a pivotal role in shaping a fast-growing kindergarten and fostering strong relationships with tamariki, whānau, and the wider community.

- Demonstrates a strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and fosters a bicultural learning environment
- Embraces sustainability and environmental education, integrating nature-based learning into everyday experiences
- Is a team player with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Has a strong focus on inclusiveness, recognising and valuing the diversity within our community
- Is adaptable, open to learning, and eager to try new approaches
- Has strengths in planning, assessment, and documentation
- Writes authentic, meaningful learning stories that reflect the uniqueness of each tamariki
- Brings warmth, energy, and a passion to your teaching practice
- Demonstrates culturally responsive teaching practices
- Takes initiative while working effectively within a supportive team environment
