Job Description
Our client, KidsCan Charitable Trust, a leading non-profit organisation in New Zealand, is seeking an experienced Senior Events and Fundraising Manager. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on children's lives by driving fundraising initiatives and events. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team, developing strategies that increase revenue and ensure strong return on investment. This position is based at the KidsCan Albany Head Office in Auckland.
What you'll do:
As the Senior Events and Fundraising Manager, you will play a pivotal role in taking KidsCan’s fundraising activity to new heights. You will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships, and overseeing the successful planning and execution of events. Your ability to identify opportunities for growth, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and engage with stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.
- Work with the Head of Partnerships, Fundraising and Individual Giving and Senior Community Fundraising Manager on developing the annual fundraising and events plan in line with long-term strategic objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Events and Fundraising team (two direct reports).
- Manage the entire lifecycle for events – from strategy, planning, execution to evaluation.
- Optimise existing fundraising events and campaigns to ensure maximum return.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with fundraising and event partners.
- Manage income and expenditure budgets for fundraising activity.
- Represent KidsCan externally at events and functions when required.
What you bring:
As the ideal candidate for the Senior Events and Fundraising Manager role, you bring a wealth of experience in event management. Your track record demonstrates your ability to develop successful strategies that drive revenue growth. Your strong leadership skills have been honed through managing cross-functional project teams. You are adept at building relationships, negotiating effectively, and thinking strategically while your excellent organisational skills enable you to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven success in leading and managing the delivery of quality events (10+ years’ experience).
- Experience in developing successful strategies to drive revenue growth.
- Strong leadership skills with experience coaching direct reports as well as managing cross-functional project teams.
- Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively.
- Excellent organisation, time management, prioritisation, and planning capabilities.
- Strong financial management skills with proven ability to manage budgets effectively.
