Our Road Science business is New Zealand’s leading designer and supplier of bitumen and bitumen-based products. We have world-class manufacturing plants and storage facilities for bitumen, emulsions, and polymer-modified binders. With five IANZ-accredited civil engineering laboratories, and a number of project-specific mobile laboratories, Road Science is driven by a passionate team of thinkers and do-ers - exceeding expectations, every time!

As Senior Laboratory Technician you will oversee day-to-day operations maximising the effective use of resources and ensuring laboratory and field testing is completed to industry and company standards. You will enhance the laboratories service competency through coaching and mentoring Laboratory Technicians, providing technical and quality support and helping them work towards obtaining a KTP signatory.

Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

To be successful in this role you will have several years’ experience in the contracting industry/laboratory environment in the testing of either binders, aggregate, soils or asphalt. We’d also value:

A valid IANZ accredited KPT signatory
Experience in managing technical services in a commercial environment
Demonstrated leadership behaviours that empower others
A focus and passion for keeping people and the environment safe
Demonstrated leadership behaviours built on collaboration, excellence, courage and integrity
