The Sign Smith is looking for a dynamic Graphics, Design & Signage Production Specialist to join our team. This exciting position offers a unique blend of design work and technical production, giving you the chance to flex your creative muscles while ensuring our signage projects are produced to perfection.
This will suit candidates that may be an experienced signwriter who is looking to pivot to a more design based position, a new grad industrial, graphic or drafting designer, or one of the above who is late in their studies.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
* Branding, and artwork for both print and digital mediums
* Preparing files for production – including signage shop drawings, CNC cutting files, and technical specifications
* Operating CNC routers, handling vinyl graphics, and overseeing print file setups
* Applying graphics to all types of surfaces, ensuring top-notch quality and precision
* Keeping our workshop in tip-top shape
* Assisting with stock management
* Proactive in health & safety practices
* Supporting the Leadership Team with any ad-hoc tasks
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Have:
* Strong experience in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
* An eye for detail and a creative flair – you know how to turn briefs into stunning visuals!
* Knowledge of sign-making materials and processes, including vinyl application and CNC routing
* A positive attitude and excellent communication skills – whether you’re working with clients, or colleagues, you’re professional and approachable.
* A valid New Zealand driver’s license and a willingness to travel (because the best projects are worth the road trip!)
Bonus Points If You Have:
* 3+ years experience in the signage industry (or similar creative fields)
* Qualifications in graphic design, drafting, or CAD (or currently studying)
* Experience working with CNC routers – you’re comfortable with both the creative and technical sides of production!
