The responsibilities
Reporting to the CFO, this is a fast-paced, varied role within a dedicated and engaged team. You will be responsible for delivering accurate financial accounts while driving efficiencies through process improvements and financial business partnering. As part of a small team, you should be prepared to take on a hands-on approach and contribute where needed.
Responsibilities will include:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reports, including balance sheet and profit and loss
- Compile annual accounts, including statutory financial reporting
- Perform reconciliations, including bank and general ledger
- Budgeting and cashflow forecasting
- Oversee debtors and ensure effective credit control
- Supervise accounts payable and, assist with processing as needed
- Capex reporting, maintain fixed asset register
- Document and improve processes
- Streamline systems and processes
- Providing insights and analysis to management, including KPI’s and metric reporting
- Taxes, including GST and FBT
The person
This role is best suited for someone with energy, initiative, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and efficiency. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential.
Your background will include:
- CA or CPA qualified preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in financial accounting
- Experience in management accounting duties
- Experience in a fast-paced, varied role, ideally within an SME environment
- Hands-on approach, willing to contribute across all areas
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide valuable insights
