About the role
We’re seeking an accomplished Principal Security Consultant to drive excellence, foster technical growth, and cultivate strategic partnerships. The individual will utilize a variety of tools developed and act as a key team member in client engagements. They will be the client’s advocate for cybersecurity best practices and will provide strong recommendations in this domain.

Your Mission:

• Direct complex penetration testing engagements, employing innovative methodologies to identify vulnerabilities and reinforce security postures.
• Build enduring partnerships with a diverse client base, translating technical outcomes into strategic business recommendations and influencing security roadmaps.
• Mentor and guide a dynamic team of five security consultants and penetration testers spread across Auckland and Wellington, fostering a culture rooted in collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous development.
• Shape new service offerings, contribute to go-to-market strategies, and represent the consultancy at industry events, thought leadership forums, and professional communities.
• collaborate with sales and solutions teams in a pre-sales capacity, providing technical scoping, proposal input, and expert insights during RFQs and tenders.
• Ensure the highest standards of project delivery, from meticulous reporting on security findings to presenting key insights and actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

What you need?

• Experience delivering security testing of web based services, cloud services and underlying infrastructure, looking for sophisticated attack vectors and recommending mitigations
• Reporting and explaining the results of penetration tests aimed at technical employees, managers, and executives.
• A minimum of 5 years' hands-on penetration testing experience with strong capabilities across applications, networks, and cloud environments.
• Proven success in security consultancy roles, managing diverse client portfolios with a strategic, solutions-oriented approach.
• Highly desirable certifications such as OSCP, OSEP, OSCE3, SANS, CREST, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams.
