He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Council’s Tāmaki Makaurau Recovery Office has several opportunities to join a newly formed Community Resilience Learning and Integration team. These roles will be based in the Auckland City centre with some flexibility to work from home or a Council hub.

The purpose of this team is to support the coordination and integration of resilience and recovery mahi across Auckland Council. The team will focus on implementing policies, processes and systems that enable a more joined-up, strategic, and community-informed approach to resilience-building.

The roles will suit those who are strategic, community-led, and relationship-driven.
There are three (3) roles available, all which will report directly to the Learning and Integration Manager. The roles are as follows:
• Community Resilience Grants Lead: this role is responsible for shaping a strategic and equitable approach to Auckland Council’s investment in community resilience to climate change. This role focuses on policy development, system-wide coordination, and strategic investment frameworks to ensure community-led initiatives and social resilience programmes are effectively funded and aligned with long-term adaptation goals.
• Community Resilience Grants Advisor: this role will play a critical role in the operational management of the Resilience Grants Policy. This position is focused on building and managing relationships with grant recipients, ensuring they are well-supported throughout the grants process, and that funds are being used effectively to support community resilience and climate adaptation initiatives. The Resilience Grants Advisor will ensure the smooth implementation of the grants process and work closely with the Resilience Grants Lead to maintain effective systems for grant administration, compliance, and reporting.
• Community Resilience Integration Specialist: this role is responsible for supporting the coordination and integration of resilience and recovery mahi across Auckland Council. This role focuses on implementing processes and systems that enable a more joined-up, strategic, and community-informed approach to resilience-building. A key focus will be ensuring that recovery planning priorities emerging from communities are effectively integrated into the workplans of other resilience initiatives across the council group.

You will have proven experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management, especially with internal and external stakeholders such as government agencies, philanthropic organizations, Māori and community groups, and elected officials.
