Te kowhiringa | The Opportunity
The primary role of the Drainage Leading Hand will be liaising with the supervisor, planning, and management of the water maintenance team. This will require the supervision of staff within the team to ensure we meet contract specifications and client expectations.

You will be responsible to:

  • be involved in organising, directing, and controlling activities and operations of staff to ensure that work is completed to the satisfaction of customers and all targets (productivity, quality, and safety) are met.
  • Liaising with customer/clients to ensure works is carried out to a high standard.
  • Work ‘hands on’ and to also provide training and development for team members if required.


Nga pukenga matua | Important Skills
You will be a team player with an organized and systematic approach to the working environment.

You must have:

  • • NZQF Level 4 qualification, or at least three years of relevant experience can replace the formal qualification


You will ideally also have the following skills or work experience:

  • Digger experience an advantage.
  • Driver's License, HT an advantage
  • Ability to Communicate
  • Risk Awareness
  • Highly Responsible
  • Experience of dealing with the public
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Co-operative, self-motivated, energetic, proactive and results-orientated
  • Keen and willing to learn, able to problem solve
  • Motivated to do a good job
  • Keen to contribute to the team goals
