Te Tumu Herenga, Libraries and Learning Services enables our students and staff to flourish by providing excellent opportunities, environments, services, resources, tools and expertise for learning, teaching and research.
We have an opportunity for a Book Handling Materials Assistant in our Collection Access team based at the On Demand Collection in Highbrook. This is a Fixed Term position starting a.s.a.p. and finishing 23 December 2025.
The successful applicant will assist in the delivery of a range of collection services: Including retrieving and providing material for document delivery, collection re-shelving, reorganisation and the ingress of new and returned items. This role will work collaboratively and flexibly across the Collection Development and Access team in the delivery of services.
Accountabilities
- Shelve material returned to the On Demand Collection
- Ingress transferred collection material for relocation (disposal or storage) to the On Demand Collection
- Updating records and digitisation of physical material as required
- Service internal and external client requests made for material stored at the On Demand Collection following LLS processes and systems
- Assist in projects as required, for example, the relocation of physical collections within libraries, between libraries and between libraries and the On Demand Collection.
This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week role on a 10-month fixed-term contract. The salary range for this role is $50,700 - $55,600 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
