Tradestaff is recruiting for a Class 2 Driver/Labourer to join one of our valued clients based in Thames, Waikato.
This is an excellent opportunity to combine driving and manual labor in a vital role for the community.
About the Role:In this role, you’ll be driving a Class 2 truck while assisting with various road maintenance tasks across the Thames region. From transporting equipment and materials to helping with hands-on labor, you’ll play an essential part in keeping local roads safe and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a Class 2 truck for the transportation of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assisting with road maintenance work such as pothole repairs, resurfacing, and drainage work.
- Loading and unloading materials, operating basic machinery, and assisting with manual labor tasks.
- Ensuring safety standards and health regulations are adhered to on-site.
- Carrying out general labor duties to support road crews and contractors.
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and vehicle inspections.
- Ensuring all transport operations comply with road safety and legal requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Class 2 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a Class 2 driver, ideally with experience in road maintenance or construction.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labor tasks.
- Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
- Reliable and hardworking, with a positive attitude and a team-oriented approach.
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- Full New Zealand driver’s license and reliable transport.
