What you will be doing

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable to support the team with the processing and payment of invoices and reconciliation of suppliers’ accounts.

The primary responsibility in this role is to ensure supplier invoices are valid, accurately recorded in Auckland Airport’s accounts payable system and processed efficiently and accurately, including payment. The role will also undertake variance analysis including investigation of discrepancies of supplier accounts.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Logging invoices for Auckland Airport’s procure-to-pay (P2P) system, Coupa
  • Processing invoices in JDE (ERP system) for payment
  • Follow-up of unapproved invoices in Coupa
  • Ensure invoices relating to purchase orders are matched correctly for payment
  • Prepare information for Electronic Funds Transfer for both domestic and foreign currencies
  • Ensuring proper authorisation and timely processing of one-off payments
  • Creating regular reports
  • Regular reconciliations of accounts payable subsidiary ledger to general ledger and of all supplier statements
  • Ensure all creditors’ statements are received
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of improvements to the accounts payable function


What you’ll bring to the role

Due to the high volume and complex nature of the business this role requires experience in dealing with large amounts of data with a strong eye for detail.  Communication will be required with Auckland Airport employees and managers at all levels of the organisation and with external suppliers. Therefore, strong communication skills are essential.

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

  • Familiarity with a large financial system (JDE preferred but not essential)
  • Working knowledge of P2P system
  • Accounts payable experience
  • Proven experience with Excel and Word
  • Ability to work towards and meeting deadlines
  • Proven ability to work in a high-volume invoicing environment
  • Capabilities of working successfully as part of a team, with an ability to work under minimal supervision
