The Company My client is a privately owned Australasian business that has been operating for over 80 years. The business is circa $40M in revenue in NZ and has circa 30 staff, resulting in a great family feel culture. The business has a few arms but predominantly has a larger corporate customer base.
The Role The role of Financial Controller will report to the CFO based in Sydney. This is a really broad role where you really get to make this role your own. The role will have one staff member reporting to it who does the AP, AR and bank reconciliations. Your key responsibilities will include:
Preparation of the monthly management Accounts and providing insights thereon
Budgeting & Forecasting
Manage the audit, statutory reporting and Financial statement preparation
Tax compliance
Manage cashflow, treasury, hedging and FX exposure
Manage the Accounting for stock
Manage the WIP and revenue recognition process
Business partner Project managers to ensure projects are on track and fiscally managed
Oversee warehousing and fleet management
Manage the company insurances
Oversee legal contracts and other ad hoc operational issues as they arise
Manage third party relationships such as third party payroll providers and IT
Staff management and development of one
As this role crosses different areas of the business, we are looking for an individual who is keen to be an integral member of the team providing leadership to the business. Parking is on site and the company has a very positive bonus culture.
Your profile: To be considered for this role, we are looking for an experienced Finance Manager / Controller that has the following attributes:
Previous experience in a similar role where you are an integral member of leadership of the team, not just pure nance
Experience from managing a stock based business from an accounting perspective
Experience in project/construction/manufacturing industries
An ability to be hands on and big picture.
