Job Description

Our client is a prominent provider of healthcare services and diagnostic testing across New Zealand. They are seeking a skilled Property Leasing Manager to oversee lease agreements, negotiate renewals, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory standards.

With a focus on aligning property strategies with organisational goals, this is an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and impactful environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lease and Contract Management
Reporting to the Group Procurement Manager, your role will involve managing a diverse portfolio of leases to ensure they comply with organisational policies and regulatory standards while meeting the operational requirements of the business. You will lead negotiations for new agreements, renewals, and variations, working to secure terms that optimise financial and operational outcomes. Additionally, you will ensure that lease terms are aligned with the organisation's broader contractual obligations and strategic timelines, providing a seamless and integrated approach to property management.

Strategic Insights and Analysis
As part of this role, you will conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, benchmark property costs, and uncover opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency. Your expertise in analysing leasing data will enable you to generate detailed, actionable reports that inform budget planning and guide procurement strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement
You will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining strong relationships with landlords, property managers, and internal stakeholders, fostering collaboration and addressing any issues that may arise.
Balancing your negotiation skills with a disciplined approach to process adherence, you will engage in meaningful discussions with stakeholders, creating a collaborative environment that supports effective decision-making and sustainable outcomes.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience managing and negotiating property leases and contracts, demonstrating a strong track record of success.
  • Preferably experience from both corporate and public sectors.
  • Advanced analytical and negotiation skills to identify opportunities and maximise value, ensuring financial and operational alignment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with landlords, property managers, and internal teams.
  • Familiarity with property laws and compliance requirements to ensure lease agreements meet all necessary standards.
  • A degree in property management, business, or a related field is highly desirable.

We are only considering applicants who have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand indefinitely.
