My client are a recognisable brand specialising in the manufacturing of pipeline solutions for a multitude of sectors. Operating across NZ and Australia, they have become trusted partners across the globe having been in operation for over 80 years. With plants based throughout the country, their finance teams sits between Auckland and Palmerston North. This is a contract opportunity with the potential to go permanent for the right person.
The Role
This is a sole-charge Accounts Payable position where you will manage the entire end to end process of the payables function. You will report directly into the Finance Manager and work in a team of 5 across the Finance team. The team are split in terms of location between Auckland and Palmerston North.
Your duties will include:
- Invoice processing in an automated environment through SAP, approx. 600 invoices per month
- Exception checking, gaining authorisations and PO matching
- Working closely with the Treasury team regarding hedging for FX invoices
- Preparing weekly, 20th and EOM batch payments
- Supplier reconciliations
- Payment reconciliations
- Vendor management and queries
- Generating monthly reports
- Ad-hoc duties as requested
Your profile:
We are looking for a hands-on Accounts Payable officer with proven experience in the full function of the process. You will be a self-starter with the ability to take full ownership of the role and you will be able to cope in a high-volume environment where you will build strong relationships with your vendors and throughout the business alike.
You will have strong excel skills and enjoy complex reconciliations, experience on larger ERP’s is desirable and having worked in an automated environment is key. Strong communication skills – both written and verbal is essential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being part of a successful and committed team, and will have the potential to go permanent for the right person.
