Tradestaff is looking for a full-time Hydro Excavation Operator to join a trusted client in the heart of Hawkes Bay!

You will be at the heart of essential operations handling hydro excavation and vacuum trucks to remove debris, maintain infrastructure and unearth underground facilities.

This role is for 42.5 hours per week with an additional requirement to respond to call-outs and after-hours standby on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities:

• Operate hydro excavation and vacuum trucks to excavate and remove earth (e.g. soil mud and debris), non-destructive digging and locate underground utilities
• Transport and dispose of waste
• Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot equipment & ensure the truck is fully utilized whenever possible
• Effective communication with colleagues, supervisors and clients
• Manage job bookings with team leaders and stakeholders

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience operating a hydro truck or heavy trucks in civil construction
• NZQA Level 3 in Operating a Hydro-Excavator on an Infrastructure Works Site
• Full class 1 & 4 drivers license with your dangerous goods endorsement
• Understanding & hand on experience of electrical and mechanical systems including pumps, valves and controls
• Excellent troubleshooting & problem-solving abilities
