Job Description
The Company
Geotechnical and/or Civil Engineer sought to work in an innovative, environmental conscious company in Gisborne.
They deliver civil engineered projects on time and to budget while supporting environmental and community outcomes.
They deliver a range of geotechnical, water reticulation, storm-water, roading and survey projects. This will be a diverse and challenging role. The successful candidate will need to be engaged with the business values of environment, community and innovation.
The Role
The position will comprise of a mix of the following tasks:
Geotechnical and Civil Engineering Design and Reporting:
- Geotechnical Mapping
- Foundation Recommendations for Residential, Subdivision and Commercial
- Developments
- Liquefaction Analysis and Reporting
- Slope Stability Analysis and Reporting
- Drainage Analysis and Reporting
- Retaining Structure Design
- Pavement Design
Geotechnical Testing:
- Planning, Managing and Completing on-site Testing
- Arranging Laboratory Testing
- Checking and Analysing Testing Results
- Managing Geotechnical Equipment
Construction Supervision:
- Contract Administration
- Contractor Inspection and Supervision
- On-site Construction Testing
- Review of Testing Results
- Claim Review and Recommendations
- Reporting to Clients
Project Management:
- Offer of Service preparation
- Programme development, maintenance and control
- Managing and reporting project budgets and resources
- Producing and updating all project documentation to company/client standards
- Managing external contractors and that their services meet agreed specifications
- Communicating with project team, clients and stakeholders
Administrative Roles:
- Business Development and Participation in Business Strategy
- Client Management
- Timekeeping and time management
- Communication, record keeping and information sharing – which includes distributing meeting minutes and monthly progress reports on all aspects of the project, attending meetings and responding to queries
About You
3 – 10 years experience ideally CPENG on working towards
Being chartered, or on the way to being chartered, is a nice to have for this role, but not essential. Honesty and an excellent work ethic are a must have. The successful applicant will be self-motivated and willing to adapt.
