Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Communications Manager for a 6 month contract in Auckland. This role involves creating key communication materials, managing campaigns, collaborating on multiple projects, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will also occasionally assist with marketing-related events and logistics.
What you'll do:
As a Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our client's brand image and fostering business growth. You will be responsible for designing comprehensive communication strategies that align with the organisation's objectives. Your ability to develop high-quality communications will be crucial in this role, as you'll need to understand various audiences and channels. You will manage relationships with key stakeholders, identifying opportunities to maximise communications. Your role will also involve delivering clear messages that align with the corporate narrative and brand guidelines. Tracking the effectiveness of your communications will be essential for continuous improvement. You'll also plan, develop, and execute communication plans while keeping an eye on emerging trends in communication approaches. Your commitment to personal development will ensure your knowledge remains current. Additionally, you'll lend your expertise to event planning when necessary.
- Design and implement comprehensive communication strategies aligned with the organisation's objectives
- Develop high-quality communications, demonstrating an understanding of our audiences and channels
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders to identify and maximise communications opportunities
- Deliver clear messages and materials that align with and support the corporate narrative and brand guidelines
- Track and measure the effectiveness of communications, seeking continuous improvement
- Plan, develop and execute communications plans
- Actively scan the environment for emerging and best-practice communication approaches
- Assist with events

As a Communications Manager, you bring significant experience in a similar role where you've honed your skills in writing, editing, and copy-checking various forms of communication. Your experience working with senior management has equipped you with the ability to execute effective communication plans that support engagement strategies. You have a proven track record of successfully running events and working cross-functionally on large projects within tight deadlines. Your digital mindset coupled with your experience in communicating on digital platforms will be a valuable asset to our client.
- Significant relevant experience in a similar role
- Experience writing, editing, and copy checking executive communications, articles, media releases, social posts, talking points, and scripts
- Experience working with senior management
- Experience executing communication plans and campaigns to support engagement and strategy
- Experience running events
- Experience working cross-functionally on large projects within tight deadlines
- A digital mindset and experience communicating on digital platforms
