Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are seeking two Customer Service Representatives to contribute to the quality of the campus experience by facilitating an excellent customer experience and supporting daily operations in our new state-of-the-art Recreation Centre, Hiwa.
You’ll serve as the first point of contact for all visitors to Hiwa, providing exceptional friendly and professional service to our members. We have a busy reception desk so you’ll need to be able to juggle and prioritise member requests with ease. You’ll be comfortable with managing multiple demands from supporting a member with how to use our web portal, troubleshooting our high-tech lockers through to selling a membership.
You’ll need to be calm under pressure, providing leadership to our casual staff who also work on the reception desk. You’ll be tech savvy, have a strong attention to detail and enjoy working with people.
We’re in the early days of operation so we’ll be looking to you to support our members. As the voice of our members, you’ll provide crucial feedback for improved member experiences.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintaining process documentation
- Supporting casual staff on reception
- Responding to customer enquiries through multiple channels (in person, phone, email)
- Supporting large scale events coming through reception
- Ensuring members have a fantastic experience
- General administrative support
There are 2x full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent positions available.
Role 1: Sunday – Thursday (morning shifts)
Role 2: Tuesday – Saturday (afternoon/evening shifts)
The remuneration range for this role is $50,700 - $55,600, depending on skills and experience.

He kōrero mōū | About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A current First Aid Certification
- Six months or more experience working in a customer-facing position
- Proven customer service and administration skills
- A recognised Fitness Qualification (preferred).
- Experience working in a recreation environment (preferred).
- Knowledge and understanding of the operations of a recreation facility (preferred).
