About The Role

Position: Log Scaler

We have casual positions available for qualified Log Scalers to join our Log Marshalling team based at our Wellington Port operation. Log Scalers are responsible for the accuracy, integrity and efficiency of measuring export logs by bar-coding and measuring logs arriving into the log yard on a daily basis. This is a very hands-on role and requires candidates who can work well in a team environment, and accuracy in your work is a must! As a casual employee, you’ll have the flexibility to take on work as needed. Given the fluctuating nature of shipping, there will be periods of high activity with numerous shifts, as well as quieter times with fewer shifts available.

Location: Wellington Port

Status: Casual - as and when required. Starting at $32.30 per hour, increasing to $34.60 upon sign-off.

Requirements:

• Physically fit and able to work standing for extended periods of time
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work within a team setting
• Good mathematical and communication skills
• Safety conscious
• Full Class 1 drivers license
