Class 5 Curtain Sider

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Class 5 driver to join our team in a curtain sider unit. Usual days of work are Monday – Friday, early morning starts. Hourly rate is negotiable based on the individual and experience.

The ideal candidate will need the following:

  • Manage curtain-sider truck and trailer.
  • Maintaining a clean and valid Class 5 New Zealand driver's license
  • Fill out the logbook correctly and understand logbook guidelines
  • Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading
  • Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting devices
  • Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles
  • Making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely
  • Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight
  • Reversing the truck and trailer confidently
  • Ensuring goods are stowed and secured correctly
  • Verify loading documents, checking the condition of goods and obtain certification for deliveries
  • Keeping the vehicle clean and keeping proper hygiene
  • Must be flexible and prepared to do metro or linehaul shifts
