Your Role
We are looking for a Specialist, Critical Operations Governance and BCM Assurance to oversee and enhance our BCM and Critical Operations framework and Governance, ensuring compliance with APRA’s CPS230 and managing business continuity risks across the organization. This role will involve collaborating with key stakeholders, providing second-line oversight and assurance, and supporting the continuous improvement of BCM and Critical Operations strategies, plans, and controls
Responsibilities are as follows;
- Manage BCM Stream: Lead the implementation of an enterprise-wide solution for APRA’s CPS230, collaborating with Operational Risk and Third Party Supplier Leads.
- Manage Critical Operations: Operationalise the ongoing management of Critical Operations. Manage the framework and governance for the ongoing testing of critical operations tolerances by the business, including integrated scenario and stress testing across end-to- end processes and across IAG.
- Support Change Management: Assist in preparing stakeholders and the business network for CPS230 implementation. Develop training content and facilitate user training sessions
- Provide Oversight & Assurance: Offer independent oversight and advice to mature the BCM Framework, working closely with Risk Advisors and First Line teams. Provide assurance including testing by business units, and assurance over both BIAs and BCPs.
- Enhance BCM Strategy & Culture: Review and improve the BCM strategy and foster a strong business continuity culture.
- Risk Assessment & Reporting: Develop and present a comprehensive view of BCM risks using qualitative and quantitative data.
- Monitor & Improve BCM Plans: Continuously monitor BCM effectiveness and recommend improvements to Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Business Impact Assessments (BIAs).
- Control Remediation & Escalation: Identify and escalate areas requiring further control remediation across the Group.
This is a permanent opportunity based in Gadigal Country (Sydney).
About You
- Minimum of 5+ years Business Continuity and/or Risk experience
- Strong understanding of the Financial Services regulatory environment, in particular CPS230 and CPS232
- Experience in the implementation of new BCM Policy and associated change management requirement
- Experience in completing Assurance activities, including risk and controls Management
- Proven project management with the ability to build senior stakeholder relationships
- Experience in completing, reviewing and testing BIAs and BCPs
- Experience in the implementation and application of Business Continuity Management programs within complex environments
- Experience in working at a 2nd line of accountability Group level, influencing 1st line practitioners to implement frameworks
- Excellent communication and management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across broader groups to deliver desired outcomes
- Experience in project delivery, change programs or similar
- Experience in planning and facilitating workshops with multiple stakeholders (desirable)
- Demonstrated understanding of IT infrastructure and disaster recovery
- Knowledge of industry best practices in business continuity planning
- Membership of Business Continuity Institute (BCI) preferably MBCI and relevant certification
