Mō te tūranga - About the role

Customer Protection Officers work deep in the heart of operations, supporting and helping customers, the wider bank and third parties with their banking – on time and right first time.



In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Pro-actively and reactively provide information and support to our internal, external and third party customers interact directly with our customers to achieve great outcomes, whilst adhering to, and striving to exceed agreed service level agreements and ensuring a high level of accuracy.
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with colleagues to achieve our objectives.
  • Get into the detail with a focus on high quality outputs. You’ll multi-task, interact directly with internal and external customers, investigate and problem solve.
  • Manage and follow a variety of processes and procedures across the wider CSS teams, and other duties. We’re all about sharing ideas and implementing improvements.
  • Learn how we manage our workflow, ensuring you understand our capacity management tools and your role in entering your own data.
  • Ensure personal work practices will minimise financial and reputational risk.
  • Positively contribute to a collaborative team environment.



Role Location: Wellington - Te Whanganui-a-Tara
Role Type: 12-month secondment
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm

To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll ideally bring the following:

  • Strong time management, communication and customer focus
  • Excellent data entry skills and a high level of accuracy
  • Good investigation and problem solving, curiosity and a growth mind-set, eager to learn and develop
  • The ability to multi-task whilst maintaining a high level of quality
  • A track record of delivering results and sound judgement
  • The ability to build relationships
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products e.g. Excel, Word, Access
  • A good understanding of customer transactions and systems
