As a Data Engineer (Analytics) in the Marketing Enablement team, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative group with diverse skills in data wrangling, data science, business analysis and data engineering. Our mission is to deliver actionable customer insights efficiently and sustainably, adding value to both our customers and our business.

Being part of the Marketing Center of Excellence (COE) allows us to work closely with business users to iteratively deliver insights and enhance analytical assets, driving value. We collaborate closely with colleagues across the data, products, and customer experience teams to ensure we have access to subject matter expertise when it matters most.

We are at an exciting juncture in our journey as an Analytics team. There is a strong appetite to better understand our customers, and we are continuing our investments in data and technology to support our personalisation efforts. Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like
As a Data Engineer (Analytics), you'll be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing data models to help us develop customer insights and advance analytical assets.
  • Efficiently developing data assets using languages and tools like Python, SQL, R, and dbt.
  • Analysing large datasets with tools like SQL and Python to uncover valuable customer insights.
  • Creating clear and insightful visualisations using tools like Excel, Tableau, and PowerPoint.
  • Following and improving existing processes to ensure our data solutions are efficient and accurate.
  • Utilising modern technologies and methodologies to advance our analytics practice.
  • Building collaboration and expertise to establish our analytics team as trusted leaders.


Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and succeed in this role, you'll ideally bring:

  • Experience in data modelling.
  • The ability to query, transform, join, and extract data using SQL and Python.
  • The ability to deliver clear and actionable customer insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.


Bonus points if you have:

  • Previous experience in analytics, especially in a business environment like financial services.
  • Familiarity with SAS, dbt, and Teradata.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Data visualization skills.
