He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

Join our dedicated team at one of our senior living sites CHT Onewa in Brikenhead as a Catering Assistant. In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality catering services to our residents, ensuring their dining experience is enjoyable and meets their dietary needs. This is a Permanent Part Time Position. Hours of work are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 2 pm to 7 pm.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing and presenting food, including portioning and plating.
  • Provide warm, friendly, and professional customer service to all residents.
  • Maintain clean and tidy dining and kitchen areas, including cleaning tables, floors, and equipment.
  • Be familiar with dietary restrictions and special diets to ensure optimal resident food preferences are met.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and residents to ensure a high level of service.

  • Experience in a similar role with good communication skills.
  • Flexible approach and attitude, being a good team player.
  • Physically fit and reliable.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a catering environment and NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) are desirable.
