Bay Audio Visual is on the hunt for an experienced Production Manager to join our growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to exert your organisational and technical skills, ensuring the seamless execution of our events.
This role involves managing the technical planning and execution of events, focusing on creative, technical, and logistical aspects for successful outcomes. It includes assigning tasks to AV Technicians and Contractors daily, providing on-site guidance, ensuring smooth technical operations, managing assets, and maintaining H&S compliance.
- Coordinate and guide the AV technicians & Contractors involved in each event through all stages of execution – preparation, rostering, pack-in, operation, pack-out and stock management.
- Ensure there is sufficient technical expertise for all areas of the event operation including Rigging, Audio, Visual, and Lighting, escalating appropriately and well in advance if there are any significant gaps or high risks as well as ensuring they deliver to plan.
- Take ownership of and ensure all Health & Safety standards and processes are followed consistently by all involved, to the satisfaction of H&S reps and business partners.
- Ensure all Assets are maintained and managed to a high-standard, identifying assets that need repair, renewal or removal as part of the process.
- Be a strong operational and organisational mind, able to create processes and systems that set others up for success.
The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience setting up and operating high-profile AV events and leading AV operations or production teams. They should be knowledgeable about industry trends, the latest technology improvements, and have a working knowledge of lighting, audio, audio-visual, LED, and rigging.
Effective co-ordination skills are crucial, including providing direction to others, making sound decisions, and delivering cultural improvements to the team. The ability to stay calm and professional in high-pressure environments, especially those involving high-profile events or customers, is also important.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential. The candidate should have a positive and enthusiastic attitude with a 'can-do' approach, be comfortable working through conflict, and have highly developed customer service skills. They should also be willing to work outside of standard business hours to support the successful delivery of high-profile or complex events.
