We are currently looking for a Senior Advisor to join our Site Support team in Feedback and Complaints to support our front-line sites and residences to understand complaints and provide quality responses with resolution focus that is consistent with Oranga Tamariki's vision.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

This role plays a key role within our Feedback and Complaints team to ensure we gain meaningful insights from members of the public and are able to deliver consistent approaches across our front-line sites.

Working directly with our Regional Leaders, Manager and Practitioners and you will assess complaints that have been received to support responses and make informed recommendations to Oranga Tamariki in relation to complaints, you will utilise your understanding of Oranga Tamariki practices, values and organisational objectives to best support improvement, this will involve investigating and conversations to best get to the heart of complaints and concerns.

Key requirements of the role include:

  • Previous experience with complaint and dispute resolution
  • Some understanding of the Oranga Tamariki act in relation to best practices for child-centric approaches
  • Ability to gain engagement and get to the heart of issues
  • Strong relationship and partnering skills to gain buy-in to strengthen organisational practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of Oranga Tamariki future direction, goals and mission
  • Experience identifying and managing risk
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
