About the role
We are looking for a Development Accountant to be a part of our continued growth story and provide essential support to our Finance and Development teams. You will ensure development projects are managed to approved budgets and further support the departments with month end accounting functions and processes. Based in our Newmarket support office and reporting to the Head of Development Finance, with multiple development projects currently underway, and more in planning, there is simply no better time to join the team than now.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead project accounting, month end and half year processes for development finance.
- Creation of fixed asset registers for completed developments.
- Ensure that all board approved budgets are accurately reflected in project management and financial systems.
- Ensure the timely delivery of reporting requirements including bank funding and executive reports.
- Work with development and AP teams to ensure the timely payment of invoices and monitor monthly development cashflows compared to budget.
- Oversee continuous improvement of the development finance function from a cost reporting perspective.
About you
- Experience in property finance, project accounting and fixed assets.
- Strong analysis and attention to detail.
- New Zealand property and or retirement sector experience would be highly advantageous
- Degree or professional qualification in Accounting/Finance, with relevant experience.
