He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

We have partnered with Air New Zealand as one team to create an incomparable lounge experience that people value and remember and as such, we have an exciting opportunity for an amazing Permanent Full Time Breakfast Chef to join our team with the award-winning Air NZ Lounge in Christchurch Airport. Hours of work will be a minimum of 30 hours a week with early start 3:30am to 12pm Friday to Tuesday thus it includes weekend work. This is a rare opportunity for a Chef to jump into a great team and work with them to continue building on the lounges current success to provide great service to the guests.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Head Chef.
  • Preparation and presentation of the lounge menu.
  • Cooking daily.
  • Most importantly providing a second to none experience to a large variety of airline passengers which use the lounge.


He kōrero mōu / About you:

  • Proven experience working in a commercial kitchen as a Chef
  • Be a hardworking team player who is able to work under pressure with a positive attitude
  • Have up to date knowledge of current Food Safety and Occupational Health and Safety legislation
  • Hold food safety Unit Standards 167 and 168 or equivalent
  • Demonstrate a passion for great food and quality.
  • Proven reliability.
  • Demonstrate experience of kitchen leadership and the ability to lead a team by building a motivated and cohesive unit.
