About the role
We are looking for four fabulous Café Assistants to work at our in our lovely Longford Park Village in Takanini, South Auckland. You will provide Barista and Café services in our established café. Reporting to the Food Services Manager, you will be providing exceptional service to our Residents and their friends, while also helping provide a great dining experience!

Permanent shifts available are as follows:

  • Wednesday to Saturday, - 9am - 2.30pm = 20hrs week
  • Wednesday to Saturday, - 4pm- 7pm = 12hrs week
  • Sunday to Tuesday, - 9am - 2.30pm = 15hrs week
  • Sunday to Tuesday + Friday, - 4pm- 7pm = 12hrs week


There may also be the opportunity for you to pick up additional shifts if someone is on leave.

Some of the great things you will be doing:

  • Taking food and beverage orders from our residents, visitors and staff
  • Making amazing cups of coffee (semi-automatic machine)
  • Serving and collecting meals in our café
  • Assisting the Cook with food prep in the Kitchen
  • Operating the cash register
  • General cleaning including café equipment and washing up in the kitchen
  • Additional Kitchen duties as and when required


About you
You will have exceptional customer service skills, a vibrant and welcoming personality, enjoy giving service with a smile and you can effortlessly juggle several tasks at once. With some barista experience, some things that will support your application include:

  • Impeccable personal presentation
  • A warm and friendly nature and a 'Can do attitude'
  • Mature and reliable with exceptional communication skills
  • A good command of spoken and written English
  • A Hygiene & Food Handling Certificate (not essential) as well as and/or commercial kitchen experience
