Mō te Tūranga | About the role

The Data Management Enablement squad is modernising ASB's data management and cloud data warehouse access control capabilities. The squad is enhancing existing systems that performs data governance, data catalogue, data quality to ASB's Centre of Excellence Data Management Office team as well as data security and access provision to cloud data warehouse to the wider data community. The squad is currently in the process of assessing modern data management capability stack to implement in FY25. Your day-to-day will be a mix of planning and implementing modern data management capability stack and supporting existing services.



This SRE role will also require meeting with internal stakeholders to discuss the technical requirements for your services and communicating this back to the team.

We advocate for T-Shaped teams and are looking for someone who is willing to learn new tools and processes while sharing their knowledge, and uplifting others in the team.

This will include the following responsibilities:

  • Continuous improvement of processes, technology, and tooling to automate workflows and ensure compliance controls are followed.
  • Configurating API integration based on approved patterns.
  • Linux administration and troubleshooting of existing systems.
  • Mentoring and uplifting the best practice and driving things with an automation mindset.


Ō pūkenga | About you

We advocate agile, fully cross functional teams. We are looking for a mix of technical skills, including:

  • Technical communication and analysis
  • Shell/Bash Scripting
  • Basic understanding of API's (Building, Interactions)
  • Documentation
  • Automation Pipelines, Ansible/Linux (Intermediate), Python (Intermediate), Source Control (YMAL DevOps)


In addition, the following would be an advantage:

  • High-level understanding of authentication & authorization (SSO, SCIM, RBAC)
  • Experience as a DBA (Database Administrator) - MS SQL / Oracle / Snowflake
  • AZ-104, AZ-700
