Senior Planner (Premium Resource Consents)

  • Resource consent processing on complex, high profile applications – with the potential to progress to Principal Project Lead in the future
  • Hybrid role with flexible working and option to purchase an extra week of leave
  • Salary range - $105,808 to $130,000 per annum; KiwiSaver contribution additional to base salary offered


He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Fulltime Senior Planner role in Premium Unit based in City Centre Hub.

Work collaboratively and use your local government and/or private sector planning experience to make a difference:

  • Apply your planning expertise to assess a variety of larger scale resource consent applications and make recommendations that foster high quality outcomes.
  • Attend Council hearings as a reporting planner and have opportunities to represent Council as an expert witness.
  • Assist the wider Premium Unit with mentoring and developing junior planners and on occasions be a 2IC for Principal Project Leads, as well as reviewing and making decisions on resource consents under delegation.

He kōrero mōu: About you
You will bring your planning experience and a tertiary qualification in urban planning, resource management or in a similar field preferably acknowledged by NZPI. With a strong working knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991 and an awareness of the proposed and pending legislative changes, you will have excellent case management skills. Restricted or full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence required.
