The Warehouse is the brand that began it all. Founded in 1982 by Sir Stephen Tindall, the first ‘red shed’ challenged established retailers and proved popular with customers as a result of its simple style, and wide range of products at great prices. The Warehouse has become a Kiwi household name, and we proudly recognise the role that we play in communities throughout New Zealand. We are New Zealand's largest general merchandise retailer, with over 90 stores nationwide. We are known and loved by Kiwi's for our wide range of products from clothing, technology, sporting, gardening.... the list goes on!
You are never far away from one of our stores and that means we can open up a world of opportunities for you to embark and explore a retail career with us! Joining us means you'll experience tailored learning & development plus awesome rewards and benefits.
We're celebrating our fantastic Chair Joan Withers, who has been awarded a Dames Companion of The New Zealand Order of Merit for her outstanding services to business and governance.
We're super proud of Joan and all she's achieved so far, and it's wonderful to see her contribution recognised in the King's Birthday Honors. Congratulations Dame Joan!💚

We’ve switched to solar ☀⚡ in 26 stores and sites across Northland, Auckland and Waikato and it’s the first step in our move to 100% solar power by the end of 2026.
Great to be in the Far North today at The Warehouse Kaitaia to mark this special occasion with the local community and to celebrate we held a ‘flick the switch’ ceremony as well as a sausage sizzle, face painting and giveaways for customers to enjoy.
To power these stores, we’ve tapped into Lodestone Energy Limited new Kaitaia solar farm.
Going solar has been an important ambition for us to achieve across our store network and a great example of The Tomorrow Test in action – taking bold steps and making both big and small improvements for a more sustainable future.
