Job Description

The Role: Male Healthcare Assistant (HCA)

Location: Private in-home client- Stokes Valley

Shifts: AM & PM shifts - Approx. timings are 8AM and 8PM (2 hours per shift) 7 days per week

About the Role | He korero whakamarama mo tenei turanga-

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Male Healthcare Assistant to support an independent private client. This role does not involve personal cares, cooking, or household management. The primary focus is on ensuring the client receives their medications on time and observing post-medication effects, as the client has a history of epilepsy.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications (blister packs)
  • Ensure medication is taken as prescribed
  • Observe the client post-medication
  • Provide prompting for personal care (as needed)

  • Medication competency required
  • Healthcare qualification Level 2-4
  • At least 6 months of recent caregiving experience in New Zealand
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be eligible to live and work in New Zealand (no sponsorship offered)
  • Availability: Minimum of 5 days out of 7
