Our client who manufactures timber pallets is based in Te Rapa, Hamilton and is on the lookout for process and assembly workers who can also operate a gas/electric forklift. They are looking for capable workers who can do 60% process/assembly work and 40% forklift operating for dayshift.
6:00am - 2:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Responsibility
- Manual lifting of long timber planks onto pallets and machinery
- Accurately measuring and cutting of timber into specific lengths and widths
- Strapping and prepping paperwork for transportation of palletized timber pieces
- Using computers for job orders and machinery for measurement cuts
- Operating forklifts to load and unload class 4 curtain side trucks of timber planks and pallets
- Using a forklift to move timber planks between the storage and processing departments
- Loading cut timber pieces onto pallets and then transporting them to the assembly or storage department
- Using hand and power tools to both cut and assemble timber pieces into pallets
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years forklifting experience (New Zealand or Australian experience)
- Full class 1 NZ Driver’s License
- F endorsement and OSH Certificate (Both Required)
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Able to lift 25kg timber pieces consistently throughout the week
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, constantly moving with timber pieces
- Knowledge on how to communicate with coworkers in a loud environment
- Basic understanding on how to use both hand and power tools
