Ko tō tūranga – your role
The principal purpose of the Scrum Master role is to build and enable teams to efficiently deliver prioritized work using established playbooks and processes. This is achieved by fostering an agile culture and developing, managing, executing, and embedding effective ways of working.



Please note that this role is a 12 month Fixed Term contract.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Facilitate squad ceremonies and any team collaboration workshops.
  • Coach and mentor the squad on One NZ best practices
  • Be the key influencer who removes roadblocks to make way for squad delivery
  • Provide, monitor and use insights from regular key metrics demonstrably aligned to OKR’s
  • Drive continuous improvement for delivery practices
  • Supports the Product Owner with backlog management best practices by ensuring right-sized story writing, aligning priorities, and planning sprint iterations

  • Strong understanding of project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Familiarity with migration processes.
  • Ability to analyse data and metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive teams towards common goals.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
