Job Description

Downer are proud to provide Asset and Facilities Management services to Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ). The LINZ portfolio consists of residential and non-residential properties spread across New Zealand. The property types are wide ranging and include, land, residential, railway/rail stations, lake/riverbeds, forests, commercial, hospital/medical, farms, state coal reserves and industrial sites.
A bit about the role
The Regional Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall business performance and people leadership of Downer’s LINZ sites across the whole of New Zealand . A highly experienced and capable facilities manager, the Regional Facilities Manager will be responsible for:
- Ensure Zero Harm culture is actively engaged and embedded across all sites in the region.
- Provide leadership and direction to Downer subcontractors and staff across the region.
- Manage regional business performance, including operational delivery to agreed contractual KPI’s, financial targets, and cost containment.
- Build strong, positive, and collaborative customer relationships throughout the region.
- Assess, manage, and escalate business risks as necessary.
- Ensure sites meet safety, cost-efficiency, quality, and KPI requirements; take ownership of emergency events.
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with legal and statutory obligations.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about going the extra mile! You are motivated and ready for the opportunity to take on a leadership role to achieve a high standard performance. You must be a multi-tasker and have the ability to resolve problems efficiently and effectively. You will also bring with you:
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in the facilities industry with strong people leadership skills.
- A strong understanding of Asset management and the lifecycle of residential and non-residential assets.
- Operational experience with the NZ Building Act 2004 managing BWoF Compliance.
- Excellent communicator, able to work both independently and within a team.
- Proven experience building long lasting relationship with all stakeholders, most importantly the customer.
- Strong analytical, fiscal, and commercial skills with a proven ability to manage costs and drive productivity.
- Experience in driving operational efficiency, ensuring quality, meeting deadlines, and minimizing rework.
- Solid knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and strong organizational/time management skills.
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, with a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly.
