We are the Northland dealer for AB Equipment - Marine & Industrial Power representing Hyundai Infracore, FPT, D-I and Zenith.

Due to ongoing projects and business growth, we are currently looking for an additional Qualified Heavy Diesel - Engine / Transmission Rebuilder to join our skilled team.

About the role
This is a varied role that can change quite quickly from day to day mainly field service including and not limited to:
Diagnosing, stripping, and rebuilding marine engines and transmissions
Conducting inspections, fault analysis, and reconditioning of components.
Assembling and testing rebuilt units to manufacturer and industry standards.
Transmission dyno operation - testing to specifications (Training Provided)
Working on a range of marine powerplants, including commercial fishing vessels, large yachts, and workboats.
Maintaining accurate records of all work performed and parts used
Working with other technicians or mechanics as part of a team to complete larger projects or repairs
About you
To be considered you must be a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with relevant certifications or equivalent.
You will need to be a highly motivated, energetic, quick-thinking individual with relevant qualifications and an excellent ability to communicate. Previous experience in the Marine industry is desirable.
You'll also need to demonstrate:
Technical knowledge of diesel engines and transmissions with ability diagnosing faults
Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with customers and other team members
Willingness to learn other areas of the business i.e. marine drive lines
Availability to work Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm
Marine knowledge including working on propulsion systems including bow thrusters, install / removal of rudders, props & shafts, completing shaft alignments etc would be a strong advantage. A health and safety certification is also desirable but not essential.
